RHYTHM DANCE CENTER PERFORMING COMPANY AUDITIONS 2010 2011:

Dancers must be entering 3rd grade – 12th grade for the 2010-2011 school year to be eligible to audition.

We are excited to announce our upcoming Auditions for the 2010-2011 Season!  If you love to dance and perform, we would love to see you at our auditions!  Please read through all the info carefully.  Please feel free to email us with any questions you may have.  If you are new to Rhythm, or new to Performing Company, we strongly suggest you attend a Parent Q & A session.

RHYTHM DANCE CENTER PERFORMING COMPANY AUDITION AND CALLBACK DATES

**Please remember, we have had 6th-7th graders in our Junior Companies and Senior Companies.  We take into consideration level and age when selecting dancers.  So, if you are an upcoming 9th grader, you may be called back to the Teen Callbacks, not necessarily Senior Callbacks.

The Auditions will consist of two parts.  The first part of the audition will consist of a Ballet and Jazz Audition.  The second part is a call back audition.

Part One:  Ballet and Jazz Class

All dancers wishing to audition for Performing Company will be required to attend the Ballet and Jazz Auditions within their appropriate age groups, no matter what Performing Company they wish to audition for.  Dancers will be evaluated on their ballet and jazz technique during this audition.  It is a 2 hour audition.  The first hour will be formatted like a ballet class, with barre and center floor work.  The second hour will be formatted like a jazz class, with across the floor progressions, and a jazz combination will be taught.  The jazz combination learned in this class will also be performed at the callback audition.  This will give us an opportunity to see the dancers perform the combination after having some time to practice.

After this audition we will ask you to come back to a specific callback audition. ALL DANCERS will be asked to come to a callback. On Tuesday morning, April 20th, a CALLBACK AUDITION list will be posted at www.rhythmdancecenter.com. This will designate which callback audition your dancer will attend. There is a possibility you will have to attend multiple callbacks, depending on your age and level. We will take into consideration the Company you are interested in auditioning for when posting Callbacks. For example, if you are only interested in CONNECTION, we will not ask you to come to the EDGE Callback. However, if you are interested in EDGE, we may ask you to come to the EDGE and CONNECTION callbacks.
